FAQ

I can't view the video
Make sure that you have Apple's QuickTimetm software installed correctly. You will only be able to view the video sequences with this software installed. For best results we also recommend that your monitor is set to view in thousands of colours.
You can download QuickTimetm for your computer from the rescources we've provided here

Note for Windows Users:
The PodPlayer will not recognise versions of QuickTime later than 2.1.2
Please download version 2.1.2(1.3mb).
If you have QuickTime 3.0 installed this will not affect it.

When I click on the 'Show Me' button I have to enter a password - how do I get one?
If you bought the Pod right here then you will have recieved an order confirmation page and also an email confirmation of your order with the Keycode information.
You can Purchase a password right here on-line. You will need to have a current valid credit card.

What do I do if I've lost my password?
Email us. with details of your Name, email address and the pods you have purchased. Without this info it is unlikely that we'll be able to verify your records.

I get a "Where is the file?" message
It is possible that you have moved one or more of the files from it's intended folder - OOPS!
Here's a li'l file map for you to check:

The video quality is patchy
We recommend that you set your monitor to view thousands of colours. Millions is even better. If the monitor is set to display 256 colours or less the quality of the video will definitely suffer. Symptoms include blocky colours and slower performance.

Try changing the colour depth of your display.
On the PC, go to the control panel for "Display" and change the setting to "Truecolor", "16 bit", or "24 bit".
On the Mac, go to the control panel for "Monitors and Sounds" and change the color depth to "thousands" or "millions".

In some cases the video has been heavily compressed to keep the filesize down. With any improvement in video compression technology we'll endeavour to get the best we can.

Where do I get the QuickTimetm software?

I can't launch my web browser from the PodPlayertm
If you click on any of the roll-over links, the PodPlayertm will attempt to launch your web browser and open a page from the MTB-pods/HTML folder.
We have only been able to test most popular browsers (Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator).
Check that you have enough memory, the PodPlayertm requires around 4mb to run and your web browser will probably need AT LEAST 8mb. If you haven't got enough memory - get some more!
Otherwise, you'll have to quit the PodPlayertm to go online or browse the files inside the HTML folder.

Can I copy the software?
You can move the files around within your system (as long as you keep the folder structure intact).
ie: if you get a new hard disc etc.
You cannot distribute the software or give it to friends etc.
If you want to inquire about including any elements of the Pods or the PodPlayertm in cover discs, magazine reviews or shareware compilations you will need epxress permission from us.
Email us - we're humans after all!

Further Questions
If you are still expressing difficulties that you cannot resolve please email us and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.

Uh Oh! Tech time...
Yes, you will need to have certain 'things' to be able to run the Skills program - We recommend AT LEAST a 486 PC or an '040 Macintosh able to display 16-bit colour (thousands of colours, or even better millions) with 8mb of free RAM.

Now, we're not saying it won't work on anything less but it's what we recommend for best results. You can run it with 8-bit (256) colour but the video won't look very beautiful.

You also will need Apples' QuickTime software installed to be able to view the QuickTime video (obviously!)
Below are links to the files @Apple so you can download the nessecary system stuff. Make sure you read the read me files - to avoid any sticky situations....
